This is another quick DIY Christmas decor project that I’ve made this year- A DIY Christmas wreath. I made it using the stuff I’ve foraged on my walks- a blackberry vine for the base, pine branches, holly, and pinecones. You can use any base like a grapevine or metal or even the embroidery hoops. All other items can be bought in stores or online.
This rustic Christmas wreath is simple and can be made in less than 20 min. So save you some money this year and make one yourself.

Materials and tools
- Grapevine/metal base loop, embroidery hoop
- Pine branches(or any other (or any other type like spruce, anything with confire needles)
- Rope/twine for the pinecones
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Rope or wire for securing the decor bits to the base
- Thick rubber gloves
How to make a rustic DIY Christmas wreath step by step
1. Prepping the wreath base
You can skip this step if you have the grapevine wreath base. I had long blackberry vines that I needed to shape into a circle to form the wreath base. It was a bit tricky because the vines have a lot of small thorns. I removed any remaining leaves as well. I used thick rubber gloves, but any gloves to work with roses, for instance, would be good too.
Once I had the base of the wreath ready, I let it dry.
2. Adding the pine branches
Next, I attached the pine branches using a piece of string or twine to secure it to the base.
3. Adding the holy branches
Next, I added the holy branches and secured them using jute twine as well.
4. Adding the pinecones
Next, I added the pinecones using a hot glue gun.
5. Making the pinecone hangings
Then I decided I wanted some pinecones hanging on a piece of rope/string from the bottom of the wreath. I secured the pinecones to the rope with a hot glue gun and then attached the other end of the rope to the wreath.
