This is a super quick Fall decor post. I had some of the grass left from making my fall wreath and decided to use it to make a simple DIY fall decor vase. If you have a glass vase collecting dust, you can use it for this simple craft. And if you can forage some dried grass, it’ll make it a super cheap/free project too!
Materials and tools
This time not too many materials and only a couple of tools needed.
Materials
- A glass vase
- Sand
- Some pebbles and/or seashells
- Dry grass
Tools
- Pruning shears
- Scissors
- Rubber gloves

How to make a DIY fall decor vase
First, I put some of the pebbles at the bottom of the vase. Next, I added some thick branches first. Then the bunches of grass and teazle. Mind that the teazle stalks are all covered in tiny thorns. I used thick rubber gloves and a pair of scissors to scrub them off.
Lastly, I added the long, single grass stalks, and finally, the sand. I put some more pebbles on top of the sand as well. Why sand at the end? Some grass stalks were quite dry and fragile, and I didn’t want them to break while trying to insert them into the sand.

And that’s it! I told you it was super quick to make. You can also decorate the vase with some raffia or twine if you want to.
